MSc (Advanced Practice), H Dip (Clinical Practice), RGN
My work Experience in Urology began in the old Meath Hospital, which was the center of excellence at that time. The hospital was relocated to AMNCH site in 1998 where I gained experience on the Urology-Surgical ward. In 2008 my career pathway veered to the private sector where I had the opportunity to work for the Irish cancer society as their Prostate Cancer Information nurse. The nurse in me missed the hustle and bustle of the acute sector and I returned to AMNCH in 2009 as CNM2 in the Urology Outpatients. In 2010, I took myself out of the capital and moved to Limerick where I have worked as the prostate Coordinator for the past 8 years. There I had the opportunity of successfully setting up the Rapid Access Prostate Clinics. To date I continue to coordinate the patient’s journey through the Rapid Access Prostate Clinics. I am currently waiting to commence position of candidate ANP in Urology focusing on prostate cancer surveillance and PSA surveillance pathways for men attended the service
